Initially, E-cadherin-positive (E-cad+) stem cells differentiate
into a transient double-positive population (E-cad+
GFP+) corresponding to cells at the primitive streak stage of
development. After day 3, Mixl1-expressing (GFP+) nascent
mesoderm downregulated E-cadherin.
