The BrdU positive cells are predominantly located in the §1 integrin dull area. The basal layer undulates and the §1 integrin bright cells are located at the tips of the dermal papillae closest to the surface of the skin.

The entire stack consisting of 64 sections is shown. The top of the stack is at the level of the basement membrane and moving forward in the stack is equivalent to movement from the basement membrane towards the surface of the skin. A rotation was calculated using the same stack.
