Viewed from the side with anterior towards the left, dorsal towards the top. Myotomes retain the original segmental pattern of the somites. Adjacent to the axis, a single myotome spans the posterior three-quarters of one vertebral centrum and the anterior quarter of the next posterior centrum. Scale bar: 45 µm.
