Implantation of Noggin-producing CHO cells results in a complete loss of Lhx2a expression at stage 22 (B, arrow), while in a parallel section, Phox2a-positive cells are present in the dorsal midline (D, arrow). By contrast, at stage 22, the GATA2 expression pattern of ventral neurones (E, arrow) is unchanged after Noggin-treatment (F, arrow).
