Synergistic activation of Sox2 promoter by Oct3/4 and Sox2. Mouse E14.5 neuroepithelial cells were transfected with Oct3/4 and/or Sox2 expression vectors together with a firefly luciferase reporter plasmid containing mouse Sox2 5¢-UTR (up to –528) and a sea pansy luciferase control reporter plasmid for normalization. After 48 hours post-transfection, the transcriptional level was estimated by the dual-luciferase system (Promega).
