Beating tissue induced by GATA4 in animal pole explants. Note that the morphology of beating explants varies considerably. Stage control sibling tadpoles were at stage 40/41 at the time of video recording (applies also to Movie 2).

Beating tissue was induced by co-injection of GATA4 and Cerberus in animal pole explants. 10-15 animal poles were allowed to fuse during early stages of culture. Note multiple foci of beating tissue in explants.
