Endothelial and VSMC of the branchial arch arteries were detected using antibodies directed against CD31 (PECAM; A,B,E) and {alpha} smooth muscle actin (AMSA; C,D,F), respectively. The higher magnification images (E,F)are from different sections from those shown in B,D to illustrate that vessels appeared normal at many levels.
