In a cross-section from P19 wild-type retina (A), both bipolar cell bodies (arrows) and the synaptic termini (arrowheads) that they make with ganglion cells are clearly visible with PKC-{alpha} staining. In the double null (B), only amacrine (INL) and displaced amacrine cell (GCL) immunoreactivity is visible.
