In wild-type cells, two bands are found, which correspond in size, respectively, to full-length ^MYCDl ( $~$ 105 kDa) and a truncated form ( $~$ 50 kDa) which is smaller than the size expected for the Myc-tagged Dl extracellular domain ( $~$ 75 kDa), but larger than that expected for the complementary Myc-tagged portion of Dl consisting of the transmembrane and cytosolic domains ( $~$ 40 kDa). In lqf^- cells, only the upper, apparently unprocessed, band is observed.
