Movie 1. OPT analysis of a wild-type E18.5 tympanic ring and gonium. The tympanic ring of wild-type E18.5 embryos is characterised by a thickening at the anterior end. Adjacent to this structure lies the developing gonial bone.
Movie 2. OPT analysis of a Bapx1–/– E18.5 tympanic ring. All homozygous-null embryos lack a gonium and display hypoplasia of the anterior part of the tympanic ring.
