Movie 1. The development of a 5.5 dpc mouse embryo from which the extra-embryonic ectoderm has been removed. Anterior visceral endoderm cells are marked by GFP expression (green). Over time, new cells that would not normally express GFP are seen to start expressing it. For increased clarity, the movie shows two views of the same embryo, with and without the bright-field image.
