The disc was treated with only 20 ng/ml LMB for 3 hours. Only abundant wing
pouch clones were recovered; isolated clones were not stable. (A) Full-length
Ci is detected around b-gal-positive
clones except at the bottom of the wing pouch where there are no clones
(arrowheads in A,C); (B) Sxl is nuclear with much less LMB. In the most
anterior region there is no competing endogenous Hh (arrowhead in B). Curvature
of disc affects nuclear signal as confocal sections glance the nuclei: the
central region of the disc appears lacking in both Sxl and Ci. (C) Ci and b-gal merge. (D) Sxl and b-gal merge. Anterior is towards the left,
