(B,B¢) A z-series of confocal images of the region contained in the white box in A. Ultrabithorax labels squamous cells and a subset of margin cells in the PE (red), b-gal labels clones (green). Images in the PE (B) and the DP (B¢) show a clone that consists of both squamous PE cells and margin cells present in both the disc epithelia. Note the loss of Ubx expression in PE cells that migrate into the DP. Scale bar: 50 mm.
