infected chick retinae show no ectopic expression of ephrin B2. Chick retinae
were infected with RCAS-RALDH1 in order to investigate if misexpression of
RALDH1 in the ventral retina is sufficient to drive ectopic expression of
ephrin B2 in the ventral retina. The virus-infected retinae were harvested at
E7 and a double in situ hybridization was performed with ephrin B2 (A,C, purple
signal) and RCAS (B,D, blue signal). There was significant infection with
RCAS-RALDH1 in the ventral retina (white arrows in B,D); however, there was no
ectopic expression of ephrin B2 within these areas in the ventral retina.
