Note the additional ß-Gal-marked cells interspersed (arrows) between circular (cvm) and longitudinal visceral smooth muscle layers (lvm). High magnification (white box in E) of anti-Pecam and anti-ß-Gal staining shows virtually no overlap of expression (arrowheads, F-H).
