(A) Confocal laser scanning microscopy images of GFP fluorescence (green) and propidium iodide (PI) fluorescence (red) in the root epidermis of 5-day-old seedlings. (B) Phenotype of root hairs in transgenic cpc-1 mutants expressing CPCp::CPC:GFP. The reduced root hair formation of the cpc-1 mutant in hair-cell files was rescued, and ectopic root hairs in the hairless-cell files were observed, as in the wild type background.
