Files in this Data Supplement:
Movie 1. A slice dissected from E9.5 Oct4DPE:GFP+/- embryo. This slice was cultured and filmed for 700 minutes. Germ cells show processes and migrate bilaterally towards genital ridges.
Movie 2. An embryo slice treated with 10 mM of the FGFR inhibitor (SU5402). In the absence of FGF signaling, germ cells more frequently fragment and die during migration than they do in controls. In addition, germ cells move slowly and elongation of the cytoplasm is inhibited.
Movie 3. An embryo slice treated with 10 ng/ml of FGF2. Germ cells show exaggerated processes and move faster than those of the control do. However, the directionality of germ cell migration is not affected.
Movie 4. An embryo slice treated with 100 ng/ml of FGF7. Neither the velocity nor displacement of migrating germ cells is affected by this treatment.
