Movie 2. Wild-type macrophages at stage 13. The macrophages extend large lamellopodia into the direction of their movement and occasionally form short tails, depending on their state in the migrational cycle. The movie focuses on the anterior VNC and is centered on the midline (anterior towards the left). Cells are visualized by srph>act::gfp; time-lapse 1 frame per minute, covering 45 minutes in real time; movies are accelerated 600x. Scale bars: 25 μm.
Movie 3. Macrophages over-expressing dizzy exhibit very long and unusual stable protrusions but a normal local motility at late stages. However, they also generate the protrusions/lamellopodia of essentially normal size and dynamics associated with their apparently normal local motility. The cells are located on the central VNC (stage 15/16; anterior to the left). Cells are visualized by srph>act::gfp; time-lapse 1 frame per minute, covering 47 minutes in real time; movies are accelerated 600x. Scale bars: 25 μm.
Movie 4. Wild-type macrophages at stage 15/16. The macrophages show an extensive local motility and constantly form and retract large lamellopodia. The cells are located on the central VNC (anterior towards the left). Cells are visualized by srph>act::gfp; time-lapse 1 frame per minute, covering 47 minutes in real time; movies are accelerated 600x. Scale bars: 25 μm.
