Post-nuclear fractions of Canton S head extracts were fractionated on a 10-30%
sucrose gradient and characterized in Adolfsen et al.
(Adolfsen et al., 2004).
(A) Synaptic vesicle fractions were detected with anti-Synaptotagmin1
(Syt1) antibody. Bchs and Rab11 localize to partially overlapping fractions
(15-18). Unlike Rab11, Bchs was not present in the plasma membrane (fraction
1; containing ROP and syntaxin) or Syt1-positive synaptic vesicle fractions.
Fractions positive for the plasma membrane marker Syx1A and synaptic vesicle
marker n-Syb, as published in Adolfsen et al.
(Adolfsen et al., 2004), are
marked.
