Shown is a restriction map of the 9 kb GC64N DNA fragment, including the positions of restriction sites used to make the NΔ1-NΔ4 constructs. The positions of DNA segments that encode 3.9, 1.1 and 1.4 kb mRNAs are indicated above the map. The righthand column indicates whether a DNA fragment rescued the female-sterility of egg mutations. The genomic region identified by NΔ2 and NΔ4 contains two annotated genes predicted by the BDGP, CG30422 and CG30426.
