  Fig. S1. Microarray analysis of G6-Nkx DH lungs. (A) Microarray analysis of downregulated genes in G6-Nkx DH lungs compared with wild-type lungs reveals a significant percentage of differentially expressed genes to be involved in surfactant/lipid synthesis and processing. (B) Heatmap of randomly selected genes downregulated by 2.0-fold or greater. (C) Positional weight matrix analysis of transcription factor DNA-binding sites located in the upstream region of downregulated genes reveals that GATA DNA-binding sites, denoted as ‘GATA-2’, are highly enriched in downregulated genes. Promoters enriched in GATA DNA-binding sites are also enriched in Nkx DNA-binding sites, as denoted by the enrichment of Nkx3.A sites (C).
