Note that the C-terminally truncated mKrm1 (mKrm1ΔC) has reduced activity compared with wild-type Krm1. Xenopus Krm2 promotes Wnt signaling, whereas mouse Krm2 consistently does not. This is probably due to a non-specific inhibition of downstream Wnt components by mKrm2. Right panel: all krm constructs are expressed at a similar level.
