  Fig. S2. Abnormal expression of Hex-GFP in 5.5 dpc Mbd3^−/− embryos. Heterozygous and homozygous null embryos with Hex-GFP transgene at 5.5 dpc were stained for Gata4 (red). Fluorescence images were taken with low (middle) and high (right) exposure. Mbd3^−/− embryos lack an organized endoderm layer and robust GFP expression (green), although some weak GFP-expressing cells are detectable at the distal side of the epiblast.
