(G-L) Cryosections of hearts stained with in situ probes to Vegfa (G-I) and Vegfb (J-L). Although control hearts (G,J) contain expression of Vegfa and Vegfb in both cardiomyoblasts (asterisk) and perivascular cells (arrowhead), Smomlc2v CKO hearts (H,K) express these transcripts in only perivascular cells (arrowhead).
