Fig. S1. Math5Neθrod1-KI/Math3-KI retinas show a slight increase in photoreceptor cells but no differences in amacrine cells, bipolar cells and Müller glial cells. (A-F) Photoreceptor cells were detected with an anti-opsin antibody (A,B), and amacrine cells with anti-ChAT and anti-p57Kip2 (C,D), or anti-calretinin and anti-calbindin antibodies (E,F). (G-J) Bipolar cells were detected with anti-Chx10 antibody (G,H), and Müller glial cells with anti-Sox9 antibody (I,J). The arrowheads in A and B indicate the photoreceptor outer segment. The density of outer segments in Math5Neurod1-KI/Math3-KI retinas is higher than that in wild-type retinas. Arrowheads in E,F indicate horizontal cells, where calbindin is highly expressed. Weaker calbindin-positive amacrine cells are interspersed with the calretinin-positive amacrine cells below the horizontal cells.
