  Fig. S1. Sequence comparison of MEX-5 orthologs. (A,B) Sequence comparison of C. elegans MEX-5 and MEX-6 with MEX-5 orthologs in C. briggsae (C.b), C. remanei (C.r), C. brenneri (C.bren), and C. japonica (C.j). Black boxes indicate identity, gray boxes indicate similarity. C. elegans MEX-6 contains RxxF, rather than RxxL; a variant RxxF sequence also is present in human cyclin B3 (Lozano et al., 2002). Putative MEX-5 orthologs in C. briggsae (gene CB12031) and C. remanei (cr01.sctg31.wum.31.1) were identified in WormBase release WS150 (http://ws150.wormbase.org). MEX-5 orthologs in C. brenneri (contig110.10) and C. japonica (contig529.6) were identified from data produced by the Genome Sequencing Center at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis (http://genome.wustl.edu/pub/organism/Invertebrates/). Sequence alignments were performed using ClustalW (www.ch.embnet.org/software/ClustalW.html).
