  Fig S1. The Stat92E-lacZ reporter is expressed in all somatic lineages in the germarium. A stack of nine confocal z-sections taken across the width of a Stat92E-lacZ germarium stained with an anti-β-gal antibody. The reporter is expressed in terminal filament cells, cap cells, escort cells and follicle cells. Most probably, escort stem cells and follicle stem cells also activate the reporter.
