Files in this Data Supplement:
Fig. S1. Micrographs illustrating the muscle arm extension defects of those mutants isolated in our screen that are not shown in the accompanying manuscript. The annotation is the same as for Fig. 1G. The muscle arms of DR15 and VL11 were counted for all analyses herein (for further information, see Fig. 1G and Table S1 in the supplementary material). Scale bars: 50 µm.
Fig. S2. Micrographs illustrating the muscle arms of those controls and mutants that are discussed but not shown in the accompanying manuscript. The annotation is the same as for Fig. 1G. Scale bars: 50 µm.
Fig. S3. Plots of the relative distance of the HSN cell body from the vulva and axon outgrowth defects for the indicated genotypes. Photos were taken of animals carrying the HSN GFP marker (zdIs13) and the distances from the HSN and the anus to the vulva were measured. The relative distance of the HSN cell body from the vulva (indicated by +) was calculated (distance from HSN cell body to vulva)/(distance from anus to vulva) to take into account the different lengths of the young adults analyzed. The relative distance is plotted on the x-axis and the inferred direction of HSN axon outgrowth is plotted on the y-axis. The mean relative distance of the HSN cell bodies from the vulva was then calculated and is indicated with a red vertical line. The fraction of cell bodies that are in the furthest two quartiles from the vulva that have misdirected axon outgrowth, relative to all cells with misdirected outgrowth, is reported below the genotype label for each plot.
