  Fig. S1. egl-43 sequence in the egl-43::NLS₄::YFP (PR-YFP) constructs. In the egl-43 sequence are highlighted wild-type and mutated E-boxes (in blue, ‘cacctg’ to ‘ctcccta’) in the ACEL-like element, and wild-type and mutated LAG-1 binding sites (in red, ‘tccca’ to ‘aacca’). The lower case letters represent the 5′-regulatory and first intronic sequences, and the upper case letters indicate the first and part of the second exons of egl-43. The egl-43::YFP constructs that contain mutations introducing PstI or MluI sites show the same expression pattern as the wild-type egl-43::YFP construct.
