About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover: Cross-section of the inflorescence stem of the Arabidopsis mutant cov1-1, showing the loss of ordered vascular patterning and the proliferation of xylem (light blue) and phloem (bright green). Mutations in the COV1 gene result in a ring of differentiated vascular tissue around the stem, replacing the interfascicular cells that normally separate the vascular bundles. See article by Parker et al. on p. 2139.
