About the Cover
Cover: Drosophila melanogaster embryo during the process of dorsal closure, stained for the cell-adhesion molecule Echinoid (red) and for Armadillo (white), which is present in all cells. The lateral epidermis expresses Echinoid and borders the extra-embryonic amnioserosa, which lacks Echinoid. The resulting Echinoid expression border is necessary for proper morphogenesis. See research article by Laplante and Nilson on p. 3255.
