Cover: In wild-type Arabidopsis, lateral roots are spaced along the main axis in a regular left-right alternating pattern that correlates with gravity-induced waving. Disturbance of the wavy growth pattern by mutation in AUX1, an auxin influx carrier, results in unidirectional bending of the root and unilateral lateral root positioning.
