- Movie 1 - GBP-GFP particles are shown translocating during peak cortical rotation. Translocating GBP-GFP particles move quickly from top to bottom in the field of view, while core rotation moves in the opposite direction from bottom to top. A population of GBP-GFP particles can be observed to move passively from bottom to top, accompanying the rotation of the core. Movie frames were captured at 2.3 second intervals.
- Movie 2 - XKLC4-GFP particles are shown in the vegetal shear zone of an activated egg just prior to the onset of cortical rotation. XKLC4-GFP particles are in green, and yolk platelets stained with Nile Red are shown in red. XKLC4-GFP particles have begun to exhibit agitated behavior but are not yet translocating directionally. Movie frames were captured at 1.5 second intervals.
- Movie 3 - XKLC4-GFP particles in the same egg as in Movie 2, now imaged during peak cortical rotation. Translocating XKLC4-GFP particles move quickly from bottom to top, while core rotation moves from top to bottom. A population of XKLC4-GFP particles can also be seen to passively accompany the core rotation.
- Movie 4 - XKLC4-GFP particles in the same egg as Movies 1 and 2, now imaged late in the period of cortical rotation. XKLC4-GFP particles can still be observed translocating from bottom to top, but more slowly than during peak cortical rotation.
