Movie 1. Normal localization of Rh1 in photoreceptors with disrupted adherens junctions. 3D projections of z-series sections with 0.5-µm intervals of wild-type (left) and crb11A22 mutant (right) ommatidia immunostained by Rh1 (magenda) and Arm (green). In the wild-type ommatidia, adherens junctions visualized by Arm staining are continuous. However, in crb11A22 mutant (right) ommatidia, adherens junctions between R2 and R3, and R6 and R7 are disrupted and not continuous. However, Rh1 specifically localizes in the rhabdomeres.

In the wild-type ommatidia, adherens junctions visualized by DE-Cad staining are continuous. Meanwhile, in crb11A22 mutant (right) ommatidia, adherens junctions between R4 and R5, R6 and R7, and R7 and R1 are disrupted and not continuous. However, Na+K+-ATPase is not mislocalized in the rhabdomeres.
